Indian Navy Recruitment Process
Now that you know when the recruitment will take place and have applied for it, it’s time you get aware about the navy recruitment process so that you can prepare for it accordingly.
As soon as you apply online for navy recruitment you can consider the process started. The first and the most important step in this process is to be ready with all the needed documents that you will need on the day of recruitment.
Here is the list of all main documents that you should keep ready:
- Mark sheet and passing certificate of class 10th and 12th.
- Your adhaar card without any mistake. If you have any correction to make in your adhard card then you should do it as soon as possible.
- Domicile certificate.
- Cast certificate if you want to avail any cast related benifits.
These are some of the main documents, other documents like sports certificate etc. should also be ready.
Call letter Or Admit Card
The candidates who’s applications are accepted are then send the call letter or admit card along with the details of examination center and other important details like instruction for exam hall etc.
Written Exam / Computer Based Exam
Written exam is the first hurdle which a candidate need to clear to go further. For AA and SSR posts the exam will be computer based, while for other posts it will be paper and pen based.
Note that their will be negative marking for AA and SSR posts, for every wrong answer their will be penalty of 0.25 marks. So, be careful while attempting the exam, if there is any question that you are not sure about then it’s better you leave it instead of taking risk of negative marking.
Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
Those candidates who clear the written exam are allowed to participate in the physical fitness test where they come across several challenges. To clear the physical fitness test a candidate has to run 1.6 km within 7 minutes. Also, 20 squats and 10 push ups are there in the PFT.
If a candidate fails in any of these challenges then he will be disqualified and will not be allowed to participate in the recruitment process any further.
The next stage of selection process is medical test. Usually, all three stages of recruitment procedure are held on the same day, but sometimes when their are too many candidates then the medical test can take place another day.
For candidates to clear the medical round it is important that he is fit not just physical but mentally as well. He should be free from any kind of disease that may cause hindrance in caring out his duties.
Candidates are advised to clean the wax in ears as it may become the cause of rejection. Also, if you have undergone under any operation of eyes or any other body part within the period of 6 months, then it may also become cause for your rejection.
Any kind of tattoos on body (except hand) are not allowed. Their certain set of rules for tattoo on hand. Candidates should consider the tattoo policy of Indian navy for more information.
Final Merit List
After getting through all these process then candidates have wait for the final merit list that is made on basis of overall performance. Once your name is in the merit list then you can be happy as it is almost the end of navy recruitment process. But don’t celebrate yet as their is one last medical test.
Final Medical test
Lucky candidates who get their name in the final merit list are then called again for one final medical examining. Their is nothing to worry about this exam as it is just to check candidates current medical status. But mind it, if any kind of disease is found then one can get disqualified. So, make sure to be in good mental and physical health.
Next, the candidates are called for the training, and after completing the training the candidate can call himself a sailor. But keep in mind that until the training is complete one can not say that he is selected.
