Indian Navy JCO Rank And Salaries 2019

The rank hierarchy for junior commissioned officers (JCO’s) in Indian navy is bit confusing as it has 2 groups namely ‘X’ and ‘Y’, but let’s make it simple.

‘X’ group: people who join navy as Artificer Apprentice (AA) are placed in this group and get extra benifits.

‘Y’ group: People who join as Senior Secondary Recruits (SSR), Matric Recruit (MR), Non Matric Recruit (NMR) and others are put in ‘Y’ group.

NCO (Non Commissioned Officers) are the lowest ranks in the rank system of navy. This highest rank in this category is Petty Office. Most people working in this class are referred to as sailors.
